Limited to 30 Students

Who is eligible to apply?

Any Sophomore, Junior, or Senior Engineering Major in Good Standing (2.5 GPA)

What is Global Distribution Study Abroad?

A 5-Week Global Study Abroad Course worth 6 Credit Hours.
The course includes 2 weeks travel through China.

Courses Offered

IDIS 445 – International Sales and Marketing

Exposure to how business is conducted in Asia, different channels of distribution, sales organizations, sales planning, distribution marketing and customer relationships, and experience local culture and business practices.

ENGR 410 – Global Engineering

Overview of international logistics, global strategy for logistics, and global supply chain management and structure.

When will the trip take place?

The Summer 2016 Global Distribution Study Abroad class will take place during Summer Session I.

November 29, 2015
Decisions will be announced by December 11, 2015.

Program Cost

The cost is $5,500. This includes air ticket, accomodations, food, and transportation.

The Study Abroad Programs Office and the Dwight Look College of Engineering offers scholarships based on merit or financial need. Application deadlines are listed on the website below. Applications will be available through Scholarships and Financial Aid at the following website. The Continuing Student Scholarship application opens on October 15, 2015 and closes February 1, 2016.

Qualified students will receive a $1,000 scholarship from the College of Engineering. Applicants must have a 2.5 GPA in order to qualify.

The Study Abroad Office also offers scholarships:

  • Student Academic Fund (SAF) Scholarship (need-based)
  • International Education Fund Scholarship (IEFS) (merit-based)
  • College of Engineering Scholarship

Financial Aid

Federal and state financial aid and some scholarships may often be used toward the cost of TAMU study abroad programs. Students can contact the program Study Abroad Advisor to obtain a copy of a Budget Request Form. Students can and should talk with a Financial Aid Counselor at 979-845-3236 for more information.

International Engineering Certificate

The certificate program prepares graduates for positions in multinational companies and foreign organizations. After completing the program, the certificate will be represented on your diploma.
